2020 Pilgrimage Season – planning continues.
Lough Derg welcomes the advice given by the Irish Government and the Irish Episcopal Conference in relation to COVID-19, and our team is continually monitoring the situation as it develops.
While we are very aware of the new norms and we expect further announcements, at this time of year we are, as usual, planning towards the blessing that the 2020 Season will offer to many in the coming months. We anticipate that the Pilgrimage Season schedule may be significantly impacted by the norms and guidance that will be in place as the months unfold. We will update and advise as clarity emerges.
During this time the Lough Derg team are working remotely and answering calls, 9am – 5pm on 071 9861518, responding to messages, emails and our social and digital platforms.
In these uncharted and difficult days, we invite our pilgrims and people of faith to pray with us some simple but profound words from St Patrick’s breastplate: these are words that we can pray not only for ourselves, but also in the name of everyone who is vulnerable in the face of the impact of this coronavirus in Ireland and across the world. Our pilgrims use this prayer at the opening of each day in the Lough Derg One Day Retreat.
Christ be with me,
Christ be before me,
Christ be behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath and Christ above,
Christ on my right hand,
Christ on my left,
Christ with me walking, waking and sleeping,
Christ in every heart thinking of me,
Christ on every tongue speaking to me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
