One Day Retreats FAQs

What dates are the One Day Retreats offered?

One Day Retreats typically run during the month of May, late August and early September – usually on Saturday’s & Sunday’s and on a number of weekdays. Detailed information on the One Day Retreat can be found here

I do not have access to public transportation, how could I come on a One Day Retreat?

Pilgrimage organisers frequently arrange buses from various towns throughout Ireland – details can be found here. We also help people to co-ordinate public transport. Detailed information can be found here

Do I have to fast when coming on a One Day Retreat?

These retreats differ from the traditional pilgrimage with pilgrims not required to fast or walk barefoot. Retreatants are offered tea/coffee and scones upon arrival and a light lunch of soup and sandwiches is provided. Please note that these are included in the cost price of the retreat.

What do the one-day retreats involve?

The One Day Retreat is a guided day of prayer and reflection including the Sacrament of Reconciliation (optional) and the Celebration of Mass concludes the day retreat. The One Day Retreat is an opportunity to step away from the hurly burly of life and take time out in a sacred space. Full details on the One Day Retreats here
