Job title:              Operations Manager

 

The Role:             As Operations Manager you will play a key leadership role and will be part of a dynamic team led by the Prior (priest in charge). Guided by Lough Derg’s values and working alongside the Head of Pastoral Programmes you will play a key role in delivering the Mission and Vision of Lough Derg. You will be responsible for the smooth running of all day to day operational activities at Lough Derg. This includes managing the buildings and facilities, staffing responsibilities, ensuring all facilities are prepared for pilgrimages and other events, ensuring policies and procedures are fully compliant and adhered to, managing office and procuring supplies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manage buildings and facilities on Island and at lakeshore

Manage day to day running of operations, within constraints of the annual budget

Recruit and manage a range of employees, building and maintaining positive working relationships

Ensure policies and procedures are in place and are complied with

Manage and develop administrative systems

Manage procurement of supplies

 

Essential criteria:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher, relevant to the role

Demonstrable experience of successful operations/project management, including meeting set deadlines and working within budget constraints

A committed Catholic with an active faith life

Passionate about the Mission, Vision and Values of Lough Derg

Ability to be enthusiastic and sincere in serving pilgrims, incorporating the Lough Derg values into every aspect of your work

Adaptable in your work days and hours given the nature of Lough Derg pilgrimages and retreats

Proven ability to prioritise effectively, to manage own workload and calendar, to build and develop teams and to delegate tasks where appropriate

Excellent team-working, organisational and communication skills, both written and oral

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to listen well and have a kind and considerate attitude towards pilgrims and other team members

Advanced MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills and a willingness to learn relevant IT programmes such as the internal CRM system

Positive and proactive in your approach to solving problems and taking on new challenges

Strategic mind-set and be self-motivated to put your ideas into action

 

Desirable criteria:

A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar administrative/organisational role

Experience working in a church-related setting
