Lenten Journey – the tenth station presented by the apostle James

The Tenth Station

James son of Alphaeus is sometimes called James the Less, that is ‘the Younger’. He was the local leader of the early Church in Jerusalem, One of the New Testament letters bears his name.

JESUS IS STRIPPED OF HIS CLOTHES

Now everything was taken from him, even his clothes.  Although he was God he emptied himself, to become as we all are.  And he was humbler yet, even to accepting death on the cross.

Lord, we worry about our life and what we are to eat, about our body and how we are to clothe it.  But life means more than food, and the body more than its clothing.  You humbled yourself to become like us: may we become more like you.

We pause for some quiet moments of prayer, our eyes on “the outstretched arms of Christ Crucified….”

Save us, Saviour of the World, for by your Cross and Resurrection you have set us free.

Narrated by Fr La Flynn and Mary McDaid.
