Fr La’s weekly ‘Pause and Ponder’ from along the Pilgrim Path at Lough Derg.

Along the Pilgrim Path this week I descended, as I usually do, to St Brigid’s Well.

Before I got to say my prayer, I found myself captivated by the light.

First it was the shadows cast by the branches of the trees overhead.

Next the trees themselves, reflected on the surface of the water.

And then – there they were, standing on their heads, in the well!

They held me captive there for quite a little while,

pondering the delight that came from gazing down on what is above,

reflecting on reflections.
