Lough Derg offers a special retreat day to support people who have been affected by suicide, either through personal loss, those who minister to the suicide bereaved or work in support services.
The ‘Living with Suicide’ Day Retreat has as its theme ‘Seeking Strength, Finding Hope’ – and will give people affected in any way by suicide an opportunity to hear the experiences of some involved in suicide awareness.
They are helped to know that moving beyond coping is possible, as they embrace the oasis of calm and peace on this sacred island.
A guide to the Special Day Retreat on Saturday 29th September 2018 will be published in due course;
The Living with Suicide Day is not a conference in the secular sense of the word but rather to invite people to come to a safe place where they might find some sense of healing and peace in the midst of pain and struggle. What is very important is that there is no expectation on anyone who attends to say or share anything. There will be no other activities on the island during the day.
The day begins with people arriving between 9.30 – 10.00am (Tea/Coffee on arrival)
Full details in due course.
