Travelling to Lough Derg

The Lough Derg team are happy to assist people    co-ordinate public transport or to link up with Pilgrimage and Retreat Organisers in their locality for the Three Day Pilgrimage and One Day Retreats.

There are a number of organisers who volunteer to organise coach travel from locations across Ireland and when they give us permission to share their booking details  each Pilgrimage Season, they are updated  regularly at the following links:

We are pleased to announce that Bus Éireann will operate   Route 486  (offering a connection from Dublin) from Enniskillen and Ballyshannon to Lough Derg, one of the oldest places of pilgrimage in the Christian world during the Three Day Pilgrimage season in 2025.

The   486 service  will operate four days a week   (Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon)  from May 30th May until 15th August 2025.

Connection options to Lough Derg are also available  via Translink from Belfast and Dungannon via Enniskillen SEE DETAILS

Pilgrims travelling from the West of Ireland can avail of connections  from Galway, travelling via Knock Airport and Sligo SEE DETAILS 

It is possible to book tickets in advance for the 30 bus to Enniskillen via   buseireann.ie.

​The fare for the 486 service from Enniskillen to Lough Derg can be paid for in cash on the day.

There are a number of committed and dedicated people around the country (North & South) who organise private coach transport from their communities and parishes, with pickup points nationwide.

Organised travel and contact details for both the   Three Day Pilgrimage  and   One Day Retreat    are linked below when they are received by Lough Derg to help people find an organiser close to their location.

We post details of groups and their organiser once they make a booking and give us permission to share their details on our website to support people who are seeking transport to Lough Derg. Bookings are typically posted here during the Spring ahead of the new Season which begins in May.
