It was spiritual and I enjoyed the penitential side and found the fasting and staying up at night a great disciplinary exercise and I also enjoyed the fellow pilgrims and learned a lot from them. I enjoyed a great sense of love and fun.I now understand why you refer to our routine as exercises! Monsignor, it was such a joy to see you coming out full of enthusiasm at 6am to celebrate Mass and I loved the bit of Gaelic and Hail Glorius Saint Patrick. I thank you for touching my mind. The Sacrament of Forgiveness could not have had a better or more reassuring preparation and it was so welcoming. All your priests and laity and especially your young helpers were inspirational and hopefully I am more aware of God's love and will try to share it a bit more. I really just wanted to say I have never loved a place so much-yes I was a bit scared joining the pilgrimage and also excited as it is something I have been wanting to do for more than 30 years since my beloved dad (RIP) used to fire my imagination with sotries from Lough Derg.
