I have been on several day retreats to Lough Derg over the past five years or so, accompanying a friend. As a non-Catholic the sound of the place always intrigued me and and I went along the first time out of curiosity, BUT after being there for a day and joining in (as much as I could) with everything, especially listening to the music in the Basilica at 3pm, the voice of the girl singing really brought tears to my eyes. I came away from Lough Derg with a much different attitude and hopefully a better person. I will look forward to returning soon. With thanks to everyone who made our day special.
