I came with a heavy heart for life had lost all of its purpose but I left with peace of mind . I had unburdened myself for past mistakes.The priests, the cantor and the island staff were truly wonderful but it was amongst the pilgrims that I found solace. All were generous with their time, their support and care, especially a lovely man from Athlone and a very special person from Wicklow, Annie. Both helped me to tell my story. Neither condemned me but helped to heal the wounds that held me back.
