14 Aug 2007

The 4th Annual Tea and Toast morning will take place on Lough Derg on Friday 17th August from 11am to 2pm. This unique coffee morning will give visitors an opportunity to have a tour of this ancient site of pilgrimage whilst enjoying a tastier version of the traditional Lough Derg meal-milk will be allowed in the tea, and jam or marmalade will be available for the toast! Everyone is welcome. In addition to the principal event on the Island, Tea and Toast mornings will take place in over 30 other locations in Irleand as well as events in Canada, Finland and England.

August 13th, 2007

265 pilgrims will be the last group of pilgrims completing the three day pilgrimage this Season. Remarkably every county in Ireland was represented on the last day, as well as pilgrims from England, America and Argentina. Although 15th of August marks the end of the three day pilgrimage season-that by no means is the end of the Lough Derg season with the One Day Retreats resuming on August 18th, and runnign every day (except Thursdays and Fridays) until September 23rd.

Only two days left for you to come on pilgrimage

11 Aug 2007

Many thousands of pilgrims have once again travelled to the Island, undertaking Ireland's most ancient pilgrimage. The number of people coming for their first time has been as encouraging as the significant international representation. Pilgrims have travelled from 28 countries already this year to make 'the Station'. On Friday almost every county in Ireland was represented on Lough Derg-31 out of 32 counties-Carlow shame on you! Monday, the 13th of August is the last day for pilgirms to start their pilgrimage to come along and give it a go. And for those who don't fancy taking their shoes off, the One Day Retreats resume on August 18th-booking is required.
