Special event

Though many of us want to slow down and experience greater calm and ease, we often find that doing this is not so easy. Learning and practicing mindfulness (meditation) helps us come to our senses in a very real way and live more fully in the present moment. It is an age old practice but it is only in recent decades that it has come to be recognized as a means to enhance the quality of people’s lives, particularly, though by no means exclusively, in the areas of stress reduction and pain management, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders and panic attacks. Participants have the choice of attending either the morning or afternoon session.

Carer's Retreat

We are excited to host our first special retreat for Carers. Carers are family members, friends or neighbours who provide substantial amounts of care to someone in the community who is: frail aged and/or has dementia , an adult or child with a disability, a person with a mental illness or chronic health condition a person requiring palliative care. Often carers are a mother, son, daughter, father, grandmother, partner or child providing substantial care to someone 24 hours a day at home. Even though this can be very rewarding for carers it is also very stressful and difficult. They will often care for their loved one, and neglect themselves. This special day begins with a cuppa and scone, followed by a welcome by the Prior. The morning then will be split in different sessions offering natural therapies-yoga, meditation, reflexology, massage-an opportunity for you to be looked after if only for a short while. Everyone will come together for lunch followed by a prayer service and music in Davog House.

Special event

This workshop is an opportunity to raise awareness about the existence of angels and discover ways in which they can help us in our everyday lives. The word 'angel' comes from the Greek word, meaning 'messenger'. Jacqui’s deepest wish is to help others in knowing that Divine guidance, with the help of angels is there for everyone, with no exceptions-just for the asking. 'God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go' Psalm 91: 11-13
